Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GetMyStub at getmystub.com, including the document wizard, payment, delivery, document recovery and verification (the "Service"). See the Legal Notice for how to reach us.

The Disclaimer and the Refund Policy are part of these Terms. Before you pay, you must accept these Terms by checking the box at checkout. By doing so, you also confirm that you are at least 18 years old (section 1) and that the information you entered is accurate and you have permission to use it (section 3). The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use GetMyStub

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. GetMyStub is built for pay in the United States. You are responsible for making sure your use of it is lawful where you are and for your purpose.

2. What GetMyStub does

GetMyStub is an online tool for preparing pay stub documents from information you enter: employer details, worker details, pay, pay periods, tax settings and deductions.

• For employees (W-2), it calculates estimated federal income tax withholding, Social Security, Medicare and, where supported, state income tax, from published tax tables.
• For independent contractors (1099), it does not withhold or calculate any tax. Contractors are responsible for their own income and self-employment taxes.
• You can only order the states, worker types and pay dates the wizard shows as available. We do not sell a document whose calculation we cannot support.

GetMyStub does not:

• verify employment, income, identity or an employer's authorization;
• confirm that any wages were actually paid;
• run payroll, pay workers, file tax returns or remit taxes;
• act as an employer, payroll provider, accountant or tax adviser;
• guarantee that a document meets any legal payroll record requirement;
• guarantee that anyone will accept a document as proof of income or employment.

3. Your information and your responsibility

You are responsible for the information you enter and for how you use the documents. By using the Service, you confirm that:

• the information is true and not meant to mislead anyone;
• you have the right to use it, including any other person's personal or banking details, and any employer name or logo;
• you will review each document before you download, share or rely on it;
• you will use the documents only for lawful purposes.

We do not check the information you enter. A document is only as accurate as that information.

4. What you may not do

You may not use GetMyStub to commit, help or hide fraud. In particular, you may not:

• invent or inflate income, wages, employment or payments;
• create a document that falsely suggests an employer paid wages or issued it;
• impersonate an employer, worker, business or payroll provider;
• use another person's identity or banking details without permission;
• give a misleading document to a landlord, lender, bank, insurer, employer, government agency or anyone else;
• present a GetMyStub verification result as proof of income or employment;
• present estimated taxes as taxes actually withheld or paid;
• alter a document to hide or change what it says;
• get around our security controls, rate limits or payment process.

We may investigate suspected misuse and act on it as described in section 10.

5. Tax calculations are estimates

Calculations use the tax tables and rules for the selected jurisdiction and pay date, taken from official sources such as the IRS, the Social Security Administration and state tax agencies. Those sources explain how we calculate. They do not mean any government agency approved a document or checked your information. Real payroll can differ because of employer-specific settings, other deductions, elections or earlier pay. Never treat an estimate as proof that tax was withheld, paid or reported.

6. The documents

You can review every document before you pay. Each PDF carries a footer that reads "Generated by GetMyStub" with the date, "Data entered by user", "For personal record-keeping only, not an official payroll document", and a verification code.

The documents are prepared by you from your information. They are not records issued by the named employer, and you must not present one as an official employer or payroll provider record unless that employer separately issued or authorized it.

7. Verification codes

Each order gets a verification code. Anyone who has a valid code can look it up at getmystub.com/verify for 90 days after the documents are generated. The lookup shows the company name, the worker's name, the pay period and net pay of the most recent stub in the order, the issue date, the tax sources used, and whether the stored files are intact. A person can also upload a PDF to check whether it matches the file we issued. We compare a fingerprint (hash) of the upload and do not keep the file.

A successful check proves only that GetMyStub issued that document and that the file was not changed. It does not prove that the worker is employed by the named employer, that the employer issued or approved the document, that the income was earned or received, that anyone's identity was checked, or that taxes were withheld or paid. An expired or unknown code is not, on its own, evidence of fraud.

Share a code only with people you want to see that information.

8. Price and payment

Each order is a one-time purchase in US dollars. The price depends on how many pay stubs you order and is shown before you pay. There is no subscription.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number or security code.

When you place an order, your payment is authorized but not yet charged. We charge it only after your documents have been generated and saved. If generation fails, we retry automatically. If the documents still cannot be produced, the authorization is never charged, and your bank decides when it disappears from your statement.

9. Delivery and recovery

After payment, you can download your documents on the confirmation page, and we email them as attachments to the address you gave. A download session lasts 2 hours. If you lose access, you can ask for a recovery link by email, which works for 7 days. These are access windows, not storage periods: how long we keep your documents is set out in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for entering a working email address and protecting your mailbox. Spam filters or email providers can delay or block delivery. Contact us if a paid order does not arrive. Nothing is shipped: the Service supplies digital files only.

10. Refunds, cancellation and refusal of service

You can ask for a refund within 30 days after your order is completed, through getmystub.com/refund. Requests are reviewed one by one under the Refund Policy. Approved refunds are for the full amount paid.

Documents are generated right after you pay, so an order cannot be cancelled once it is placed. If generation fails and you are never charged, there is nothing to refund.

We may refuse an order, cancel it or block access when reasonably necessary to stop suspected fraud or misuse of someone's information, enforce these Terms, protect customers or document recipients, respond to a security incident, or comply with the law or our payment processor's rules. We may keep the related records and share them with authorities or payment providers where the law requires or allows it.

11. Intellectual property

GetMyStub keeps all rights in its software, website, brand and document designs. You keep the rights you hold in the information you enter, and you allow us to use it as needed to generate and deliver your documents, keep issuance and integrity records, provide support, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. You may use documents you lawfully created for lawful purposes.

12. Other providers

GetMyStub relies on outside providers for hosting, storage, payments, email and security, listed in the Privacy Policy. Their own terms may also apply to you, for example Stripe's during payment.

13. No professional advice

GetMyStub is a document and calculation tool. We do not give legal, tax, accounting, payroll, employment, credit or financial advice, and our estimates do not replace real payroll records or a qualified professional.

14. Warranties and liability

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that information you enter is accurate, that a third party will accept a document, or any particular financial or legal result.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use or misuse of the Service, and our total liability for any order is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for it or US $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for fraud or intentional misconduct, or removes consumer rights that the law does not allow to be removed.

15. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from third-party claims caused by your fraudulent information, your unauthorized use of someone else's identity or banking details, your unlawful or deceptive use of a document, your infringement of someone's rights, or a serious breach of these Terms. This does not apply to losses caused by our own unlawful conduct.

16. Disputes

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer protection or right to go to court that the law gives you. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive class actions.

17. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms when the Service, our business or the law changes. The current version and its date are always on this page, and a change never takes away rights from an order already completed. We record which version you accepted with each order.

If a part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
